How to REALLY Use Attraction Marketing to Sponsor Reps Into Your MLM Business
Have you heard?
Google's own statistics show that 80% of individuals who opt in to get info on any product – be it car insurance, dog food, exercise equipment, your MLM business opportunity, or whatever - will take action and purchase the product within one year.
That's GREAT news!
Why?
Because it means that when someone opts into your landing page to receive information about your MLM business and you've got them in your marketing funnel, "all" you need to do is make enough of an impression on the person that when the time is right for them, they will come back to you -- they will choose your MLM opportunity rather than the gazillion other ones they have researched in the meantime.
And by the way, that is not as hard as it may sound! ;-)
Offering Value
Okay, so how do you do this, then?
Well, to make your prospect come back to you you've got to give them a REASON to choose to work with YOU over everyone else. And you do this by building rapport through a series of follow-up messages where you freely offer your expertise, share your experience, and firmly establish yourself as a leader.
The idea is to offer so much value that instead of just right away going for the delete button, your prospects end up highly anticipating each and every one of your emails.
These automated messages are your chance to build that relationship with your prospective MLM rep that you didn't have the chance to establish during the few moments they spent absorbing your ad, landing page, or website.
And you do it the same way you'd go about building any relationship -- over time, and in "drips": a personal story here, some great marketing tips or a book recommendation there...
It naturally takes some work to get all this up and running, but the beauty of automation is that once it's up it's up and you can focus on other things while your little army of messages is out there doing the work for you. :-)
Building Trust
We all prefer to buy from and do business with people we like and trust. This is in particular true in this day and Internet age where the next and "better" offer is never more than a click away, and where information overload prevails, often causing otherwise good prospects to become jaded.
But building trust takes time and effort.
A lot of new MLM reps fail to recognize this: if they haven't made the sale after two or three follow-up calls or emails, they write the prospect off, concluding that they simply aren't interested. And in failing to follow up properly, they are potentially passing up a small fortune in the process.
Using Leverage
Recently, with a simple click of the mouse, I sent out a broadcast message to my list of several hundred leads. In the email I talked about the fact that I’m currently taking part in a “90-day challenge” where I’m learning to utilize web 2.0 marketing from a couple of marketing wizards who pulled in $2 million in sales in a year with NO advertising costs.
I also mentioned that to get a sneak peak of what I had learned so far they could watch my first series of videos on youtube, and then I signed off with my youtube link.
This served several purposes:
1) It instantly drove lots of traffic to my youtube videos. (As you may know, among other things Google ranks your video by the number of views it gets.)
2) It added a thick layer of trust to the relationship I was building with my list of opt-ins and helped established me as a “real person”.
3) It helped position me as an expert and added great value to me as a marketer – now, not only was I an internet marketer, but one who was learning all the secrets to generating a constant stream of high-quality leads FREE of charge!
4) It made my opportunity look a lot more attractive as it provided my prospects with the chance to learn from me those very same cutting edge, lead-producing techniques.
Being the Leader
The above is an example of efficient, leveraged follow-up. You can continue to “work” your list like this any time you make an important update to your website, post a new blog, add a new video to your channel, etc. And every time you do this you create confidence in yourself as a leader and an expert.
You may not realize it but people are watching you. Some may in fact watch you for months before they decide to come in. They are looking for consistency, integrity, and competence.
And one more thing...
In the process of sharing all this valuable information with your list, you are also ‘pre-training’ your future MLM reps. Fill your emails with great insight, personal development tools and practical tips on marketing, and when the ‘slow movers’ join your MLM business further down the road, they already know the basics and can really hit the ground running.
Now that's what I call leadership... ;-)
